Ramadan Importance In Islamic Calendar
Ramadan Kareem is a month of God Gifted Blessings for the Muslim People.This annual observance is regarded as one of the Five Pillars of Islam. It is a month of Fasting in Islamic Calendar Ramadan is ninth month in Which Muslim People keep fasting whole month After Completing their fasting of one month they Celebrate 1st Shawal as Eid ul Fitr (In Tenth Month Islamic Calender). The word Ramadan comes from the Arabic root ramiḍa or ar-ramaḍ, which means scorching heat or dryness. During fasting Muslim people refrain from eating , drinking, smoking, insulting,lying, backbiting and engaging in sexual relations.
Fasting is obligatory in the age of 12 on every Muslim male and female. It is fardh except those who are suffering from bad health, traveling,menstrual bleeding, pregnancy, breastfeeding or etc.
Beside this Ramadan is month of Blessings, The Messenger of Allah (saw) said,
“When the month of Ramadan starts, the gates of the heaven are opened and the gates of Hell are closed and the devils are chained.” (Sah’hi Bukhari)
In Holy Quran ALLAH Says:
“Ramadan is the (month) in which the Quran was sent down, as a guide to mankind and a clear guidance and judgment (so that mankind will distinguish from right and wrong)..” (Q 2:183)
